This song was originally titled “Lonely People, Lonely Times” and was inspired by the people of New York City. In some way, there is a marriage of busy-ness and movement with loneliness and desire I observed in the people I walked by on the street. They always seemed to be moving and in a hurry, yet many were missing the moment put out in front of them. I later realized it wasn’t just the people of New York, many of us on a much deeper level. My wife Ashley later set words to it and I renamed the piece “Floating On”.
